Fixed Access Ladders

Safeline fixed ladders form an effective and economic system: the matching components can be put together which can form many different combinations that are versatile enough to meets the needs of any area of application.

In many cases they obviate the need for more expensive custom built designs. All components and models are available from stock and we provide full advice and installation, to put together the best system for your individual requirements.

The fixed ladders are available in four materials, natural aluminium , colourless anodised aluminium, galvanised steel and passivated stainless steel (V4A (1.4571). One feature shared by all versions is the stiles made from robust, weatherproof box section and non-slip rungs.

All fixed ladders conform to the following safety standards:

  • DIN 18 799-1 (Fixed ladders for inspection, maintenance and cleaning work on structural installations, e.g. buildings, chimneys, silos, shafts, etc.)
  • DIN 14 094 (fire-fighting – emergency ladder systems for rescuing people in danger.
  • EN ISO 14122-4 (Access products for mechanical installations).

According to the UVV, for ladder systems with back hoops, each section must not be more than 10mtrs long. Systems which are more than 10mtrs must be installed in sections with crossover platforms. If the characteristics of the building do not allow this, rest platforms must be fitted every 10mtrs.
